Packing at Your Place

Our normal packing sessions are held at the Kids Against Hunger Factory in Blue Ash a suburb of Cincinnati, OH. There are occasions, however, when we have organized off site packing events for special groups and occasions. These packing events can be very productive when large groups are involved and when an urgent need exists to produce a large amount of food in a short time.

A lot of work is required to plan, setup and manage off site packing events. As such, please complete the following form which will help us get evaluate your request. Our team of Kids Against Hunger volunteers look forward to assisting you in making your event a total success. You will be amazed at how much food can be produced at these events!

To support your off site event with confidence and quality, your group is required to:

1. Plan on providing from 25¢ to 28¢ per meal that is packed depending upon distance and event size
    a. We suggest that your group start fund raising projects as early as possible

2. Guarantee a minimum production of 30,000 meals for the offsite event
    a. This is approximately four pallets of food when completed
    b. Each volunteer will produce about 365 meals for a 2 hour packing event
    c. 100 volunteers packing for 2 hours will produce 36,500 meals!
3. Provide a required down payment of 50% one month prior to the event in order to advance order all of the supplies that will be needed
    a. 100 volunteers = 36,500 meals @ 25¢ per meal = $9125 total
    b. $4562 will be the down payment
4. Offer payment of the remaining 50% within 5 days of the event
    a. If the group produced more meals than the estimate, the final payment would reflect that increase
5. Provide on site help that will assist the Kids Against Hunger staff
    a. Loading and unloading of supplies from the truck
    b. Resupplying your packing volunteers during your event
    c. Cleaning up the facility afterwards
6. Cover the cost of local truck rentals (if necessary) as well as shipping and transport of the finished pallets to the destination (only if you select that destination).
7. Arrange for training of your key volunteers by our staff at least two weeks prior to the event.
    a. With another review onsite, one week before the event
8. Provide audio visual equipment, projectors and computer hookups for the training of the packing volunteers either in the packing room or in an adjacent area.
9. Offer a minimum honorarium of $1000 to cover incidental costs and stipends for the professional help that is provided to make this a success.
